Careful software for problems we know up close.

berkinpolat is an independent product studio: one founder and a crew of AI agents, building for problems we live with. Cookie consent under Turkish law, savings kept in lira, long days of coding alongside agents.

Four products, each at its own stage

Ordered by how far along they are. Each label says exactly where it stands.

Consentry

Cookie consent for Turkish websitesIn production, first pilot doneStarted July 2026

Nothing loads until the visitor says yes.

A consent platform written for KVKK, Turkey's data protection law, rather than translated from GDPR. A site adds one script tag. No tracker runs until the visitor decides, and every decision is kept as evidence, tied to the exact banner wording they saw.

Try it: press any button on the banner.

Requests to the tracker0

Waiting for a decision. Nothing has loaded yet.

The banner is in Turkish because it's written for Turkish sites. Reject, Settings and Accept always share one size.
  • Reject, Settings and Accept are the same size, and a browser test measures them to prove it.
  • Changing the banner's words asks every visitor again. Changing its colour asks no one.
  • Every query is scoped to its customer, and the database itself refuses links across customers. Both are tested against real Postgres.

Goblin

Personal finance for life in liraLive, in private useStarted December 2025

Every kuruş, accounted for.

Savings in Turkey end up scattered: dollars at one bank, gold at another, a time deposit rolling over somewhere else, subscriptions billed in euros. Goblin brings all of it into lira at the live rates of İş Bankası, TEB and the Central Bank, and keeps watch over what is about to renew.

Pick the day a subscription started.

  2. 31Mar 2026
  3. 30Apr 2026
  4. 31May 2026
  5. 30Jun 2026
The renewal stays on the day the subscription started, and falls back to the month's last day when a month is shorter.
  • Rates from İş Bankası, TEB and the Central Bank, side by side and refreshed every five minutes. One bank failing never blocks the others.
  • Subscriptions in 22 currencies, with what's due in the next 7 and 30 days added up in lira.
  • Time deposits work out their own interest, withholding tax and rollover. A weekend maturity moves to Monday.

Badi

A desk companion for AI coding agentsIn daily use, privateStarted September 2026

Look up only when it needs you.

Coding agents work for minutes, then stop without a sound to ask for permission. Badi turns a spare iPhone into an ambient status screen for Claude Code: a pixel-art tabby named Tekir types while the agent works, raises a paw when it needs you, and dozes off when everything is done.

Tap a state to see Tekir react.

Tekir, Badi's default character, exactly as it runs on the phone.
  • Watches every Claude Code session on every Mac it's installed on, and puts the one that needs you first.
  • Prompts, code and tool output never leave your Mac. Only small status events do, plus session titles unless you turn them off.
  • Quiet by design: a soft tick for a new task, two taps and a rising tone when it needs you, and a done chime only after tasks longer than twenty seconds.

Synapse

A Markdown workspace, designed to search by meaningOn hold since April 2026Started March 2026

Write in Markdown. Find by meaning.

A calm editor that writes every note as plain Markdown. Sign-in and the editor are built; the service that stores documents and the search are designed, not built. We show it anyway, because this is what most products look like for most of their life.

Meeting notes: the budget worries came up again

Designed, not built yet

The editor is drawn solid because it's built. Search is a dashed sketch because it isn't.

One founder, a crew of agents

Berkin Polat designs, builds and runs everything on this page, from the database constraints to the pixel cat.

The crew is AI. Each product carries a written spec that agents work from. That's how Consentry went from its first commit to a live site in under ten weeks, and Badi from an idea to daily use in two days.

Consentry, Goblin and Synapse are built from the same parts: a gateway that checks every request at the door, small Java services and Postgres. The two that are live run on servers we operate ourselves. Each new product starts on ground the last one tested, and low running costs mean a product doesn't need a giant market to be worth running.

The judgement stays human: what to build, what to leave out, and when it's good enough to ship.

What the four have in common

None of these were written first. They're what we found when we looked back at what we'd already built.

  1. Start from a problem we live with.

Each product began as something its maker needed and couldn't buy in a form that fit. Local problems get local answers, not translations.

    Goblin
Built around Turkish banks, gram gold and withholding tax.
    Consentry
Written for KVKK first, in Turkish first.
    Badi
Made for its maker's own agent sessions, and used every day since.
  2. Keep the promise in code, not in a policy.

If a product promises privacy or fairness, the architecture should make breaking that promise hard, and a test should fail if it ever happens.

    Consentry
A browser test counts tracker requests before consent: zero.
    Badi
Prompts and code never leave the machine.
    Synapse
Login tokens never reach browser JavaScript.
  3. Stay quiet until it matters.

Attention is the scarcest thing people have. An interface should say what is true, plainly, and raise its voice only when someone needs to act.

    Badi
Only the waiting state gets warm, insistent motion.
    Consentry
A zero is always named, so silence never looks like breakage.
    Synapse
The editor opens on two words: Start writing.

Tell us about a problem you know up close.
